Alumnus Brittany Ter Meer to coach volleyball at CFCA

Brittany Ter Meer is returning to her alma mater to coach volleyball.

Brittany Ter Meer will be returning to Cape Fear Christian Academy as junior varsity and varsity volleyball coach.

Ter Meer graduated from CFCA in 2015 and went on to have a standout career in volleyball at Methodist University in Fayetteville. She was first team USA South All-Conference in the East Division as a senior in 2018.

A middle blocker for the Monarchs, Ter Meer is third in career blocks in the program with 250 and sixth all-time in kills with 1,009.

Ter Meer follows Calvin Gaines as coach of the Eagles. Gaines has been accepted into the physical therapy program at Methodist and determined that his educational pursuits would not allow him sufficient flexibility to coach at CFCA.

Gaines guided the Eagle junior varsity to the Sandhills Athletic Conference regular-season championship in 2018. The CFCA varsity earned a berth in the NCISAA 1-A playoffs.

Ter Meer has experience coaching teams for the Sandhills Athletic Club.

“We have had excellent coaching in volleyball and are confident that will continue with Brittany,” said CFCA athletic director Al Myatt.
