CFCA boys tune up for road test

The Cape Fear Christian Academy varsity boys basketball team tuned up for a trip to The Burlington School today with a 76-18 home win over Brown Leadership Academy on Friday night.

Every Eagle scored with Marcus Owens providing 14 points as CFCA moved to 8-1 with its seventh straight victory.

The CFCA players were in Charlotte on Thursday and Friday with a school group that packed Christmas boxes for needy children before returning to campus to host the Bulldogs from Elizabethtown.

The clock ran continuously beginning in the second quarter. The lead was 57-11 at the half.

Parker Watson and E.J. Bethea each scored 11 points for the Eagles. Riley Adams had 10 points. Greg Moneymaker had eight points. Richard Edwards scored seven. Ramiro Arrillaga and Spencer George had four points apiece. Eli O’Brien netted three points. Mike Okoye and Lucas Capalbo added two points each.

The Eagles tip off today at 4 p.m.
