Dillon Faircloth’s RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh drove in the winning run as Coats–Erwin Middle School took a 13–12 win over visiting Dunn on Thursday afternoon.

Trailing 10–7, the Greenwaves rallied for five runs in the top of the seventh to take a 12–10 lead.

The Falcons — led by the bats of Hunter Thompson, Riley Colville, Jalen Evans, and Jacob Hartman — tied the score before Faircloth’s game-winning hit.

Faircloth and Hartman had four hits each for the Falcons, who pounded out 20 base hits in the win. Thompson, Colville, Evans, Nathan Barefoot, Hayden Pope, and winning pitcher Jamari Thompson each had two hits.

The Falcons (7-1) host Western Harnett on Thursday.
