BUIES CREEK — Andrew Eudy and Chris Clemons combined for 56 points as Campbell defeated Presbyterian 77-73 Thursday night at Gore Arena. Eudy scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Clemons added 26 points and six assists with no turnovers in 39 minutes for the Camels (11-8, 4-1), who committed a season-low four turnovers — just one in the final half.

Romeo Crouch came off the bench to lead Presbyterian (12-10, 4-3) with 16 points. J.C. Younger and Adam Flagler added 15 points each. Davon Bell chipped in 11 points, plus seven assists.

Kody Shubert’s lay-in with 10:24 to play gave the Blue Hose at 55-50 advantage. Trey Spencer hit a corner three to start a 14-0 Camel burst. Clemons’ pullup three with 5:41 to go capped the flurry as the Camels hit 6-of-7 from the floor while PC missed five straight from the field.

PC twice cut the gap to four in the last 1:20, but the Camels forced a turnover with 14 seconds to play and Eudy hit both ends of a one-and-one with 12.5 seconds to go as CU earned its third-straight win.

Campbell shot 57.7 percent (15-26) in the second half, 51.7 percent (30-58) on the night and made 9-of-24 threes (.375), including 6-of-12 in the final period. PC shot 45 percent from the field, hit 12-of-27 threes (.444) and had a 14-2 edge in second-chance points.

The nation’s leading scorer (29.2), Clemons finished three below his season average, but made 9-of-17 shots, including 6-of-11 threes. With 2,783 points in 116 games, Clemons moved by J.J. Redick of Duke (2,769 from 2002-06) into 18th place on the NCAA Division I all-time scoring list. He also scored in double figures for the 101st-consecutive game, the longest streak among active Division I players and fourth-best all-time.

Eudy, who had a career-high 25 two weeks ago against Winthrop, made 12-of-17 from the floor, while collecting his fourth double-double in the last six games. The senior center also dealt out three assists and had no turnovers in 38 minutes. Jordan Whitfield came off the bench to add a career-best six assists with no turnovers in 24 minutes.

Campbell jumped to a 13-3 lead in the opening minutes — capitalizing on three early PC turnovers. The Blue Hose rallied, and in the midst of a 0-of-10 dry spell from the field by the Camels, took an 8-point lead. Flagler’s triple capped a 21-3 burst and gave Presbyterian a 30-22 edge with 6:21 remaining in the opening half.

The Camels answered with a 13-4 flurry and Eudy’s elbow jumper tied the score at 37 at the break.

PC made 8-of-16 threes in the opening half as Flagler hit all 3 from downtown, while Crouch and Younger went 2-of-3 from distance. Campbell shot 47 percent from the field in the first period, but just 3-of-12 beyond the arc.

The Camels, who have won the last seven meetings with the Blue Hose, improved to 4-1 in league play for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

Campbell plays its third road contest in the last four games Saturday in a 6 p.m. tipoff at Hampton.
