Ruby George makes All-SAC in cross country for CFCA

Ruby George ran to all-conference honors on Thursday.

Freshman Ruby George of Cape Fear Christian Academy finished ninth among the girls in the Sandhills Athletic Conference cross country meet at Freedom Christian Academy in Fayetteville on Thursday afternoon to earn all-conference honors.

George also was all-conference in 2018.

George ran the five-kilometer course in 24 minutes, 26 seconds. Trinity Olive of the Eagles was 12th in 28:23.

The CFCA girls finished fourth out of five in the team standings.

For the Eagle boys, Landon Peregoy was 15th in 23:00, Trey Tripp was 16th in 23:08 and Jake Tyndall came in 17th in 23:10.

The CFCA cross country teams are scheduled to compete in the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association 1-A meet at McAlpine Park in Charlotte on Friday morning, October 25.

Landon Peregoy was 15th among boys in 23 minutes.

Jake Tyndall runs the 5K course at Freedom Christian.

Trey Tripp is offered some water after Thursday’s race.
