BUIES CREEK — Luana Serranho scored a career-high 19 points to lead Campbell past UNC Greensboro, 72-64, on Tuesday night at Gore Arena.

Serranho led the Campbell offensive attack on 6-of-9 shooting from the field including a 3-of-4 mark from deep. Shy Tuelle also added 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting to go along with a 4-of-5 performance from three while Brittany Staves finished with 10.

Campbell used a 16-3 run that started with 47 seconds left in the third and pushed to the 5:15 mark in the final period to help the Camels (4-2) remain undefeated at home this season.

Te’ja Twitty posted a double-double with 20 points and 12 boards to lead all scorers. Nadine Soliman followed with 18 and Aja Boyd had 11 for UNCG (5-3).

The Camels edge came from the bench, which outscored the UNCG bench, 40-9.

Campbell applied pressure and forced 18 turnovers that were turned into 22 points.

Campbell pushed its lead to as many as 15 with 5:15 to play before the Spartans nudged back thanks to free throw shooting down the stretch.

Serranho’s career high follows her performance last game against Kennesaw State when she set a then career-high with 18 points.
