South baseball defeats Rocky Mount; Tuesday game reset

South Johnston’s varsity baseball team won 4-1 at Rocky Mount on Friday.

The Trojans were scheduled to host Cardinal Gibbons on Tuesday, but that game was postponed to Saturday at noon with Johnston County Schools closed Tuesday following snow. The Crusaders dealt the Trojans their only loss, 9-6, on Feb. 28.

Kyle Raulerson went 3-for-3 with a stolen base for South (3-1) on Friday.

Getting multiple hits for the Trojans were Jacob Norris, Josh Schindler and Jacob Honeycutt.

Junior left-hander Aubrey Pollard started and went four innings for the Trojans.

Southpaws Javier Amezquita and Clay Milburn finished on the mound for the visitors.
