Southern Lee boys take first

Host Southern Lee turned back Harnett Central, 57-39, on Friday night to take over first place in the Tri-County Six 3-A Conference varsity boys basketball standings.

The Cavaliers improved to 19-3 overall and 7-1 in league play while the Trojans slipped to 11-9, 6-2.

Harnett Central took a 59-24 win in the girls game as Syniah McMiller led the Lady Trojans with 20 points.

The Central girls are 15-5 overall and 7-1 in the league.

The Trojans visit Triton on Tuesday night.
