Seniors Bert Strickland and Arturo Javier Hernandez had two goals each as host Triton won its Tri-County Six 3-A Conference varsity boys soccer opener, 6-0, against Western Harnett on Tuesday night.
Hernandez scored in the eighth minute on an assist by Merced Mendez to put the Hawks (3-4-2) ahead to stay.
Senior Paul Wells and junior Arthur Torres also had goals in Triton’s third straight win.
Gage Smith had two assists. Julian Serrano and Chase Thornton also had assists.
Cristian Delcid had six saves in goal in the first half. Javier Vazquez had three saves in the second half.
The Hawks continue league play at Harnett Central tonight at 6:30.
