Western Harnett won two games on Thursday night to reach the Tar Heel Leagues district final in the Midget (10-and-under) baseball tournament in Southern Pines.
Western plays Sandhills tonight at 6 and needs to defeat Sandhills twice in order to win the championship.
Western topped Angier 10-3 and turned back Erwin 12-4 on Thursday evening.
The state tournament is in Hickory beginning July 26
