BUIES CREEK — Alexa Genas and Parker Ormsby both scored and assisted Sunday night in a 3-3 draw against UNC Greensboro at Eakes Athletics Complex.

Trailing 3-1, Campbell rookie Parker Ormsby dribbled gathered the ball and dribbled past two defenders before striking her first career goal to the top left corner over the outstretched keeper from 28 yards out in the 84th minute.

Just four minutes later in the 88th clock rotation, Ormsby played the ball into the box from nearly the same spot she netted her earlier goal. Following a high bounce off the cross, the ball scooted past the charging keeper before Alexa Genas gathered the ball for the easy equalizing score from inside the box off her right foot.

After falling behind 1-0, UNCG reeled off three straight scores including scores from Isabelle Blomdahl, who opened the scoring slate for the Spartans (0-1-1) in the 24th minute off a cross to her right foot inside the box where she finished to the back post.

Kaley Tucker followed with the go-ahead strike in the 53rd minute before Maddy Gilhool finished in traffic in the 67th minute.

In her first collegiate start, Reaghan Duval came up big on multiple occasions and tallied eight saves across the full 110 minutes. Duval appeared in just two matches a season ago for the Camels (0-0-1).

Two UNCG keepers shared time between the post with Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper serving the load of minutes where she allowed the one goal and recorded four saves over 98 minutes of action. In just over 11 minutes between the pipes, Abby Buchholz allowed two goals with zero saves during the CU comeback.

Alabama transfer Katie Lockwood opened the 2019 Campbell scoring slate with a finish in the box off a cross from Genas into the six yard box. Over 85 minutes of play, her score served as the only shot she took on the night.

The last time the Camels’ season opener resulted in a draw was against the Spartans in 2016 in a 1-1 decision in Buies Creek. The match also marked the last time the two squads met.

Campbell returns to action on Thursday with a home date against Furman at 6:00 p.m. at Eakes Athletics Complex.
