Goldsboro topped Midway 53-51 in the semifinals of the East Central 2-A Conference varsity girls basketball tournament at East Duplin on Thursday night.

The Lady Raiders (22-2) shared the regular-season league championship with East Duplin.

Midway had a possession in the final seconds and put up a shot that did not fall.

Leah Williams had fouled out with about two minutes left after scoring 15 points. J.J. Sankey had 14 points. Madeline Royal and Jenna Pope each tallied six points.

“We’re going to rest Friday and shoot around on Saturday,” said Lady Raiders coach Allen McLamb. “We’ll see who and where we play, practice Monday and get ready.”
