Highland successfully defended its Harnett Area Middle School Conference football championship with a second consecutive unbeaten season.

Coats-Erwin was scheduled to host 2018 runner-up Harnett Central on Monday with a chance for the Falcons to claim second place but that contest was called off due to wet field conditions.

Overhills and Shughart also had a game that will not be made up.

The season already had been delayed due to circumstances relating to hurricanes.

The final standings:

Team/Record
Highland 6-0
Harnett Central 4-1
Coats-Erwin 3-2
Overhills 3-2
Dunn 2-4
Western Harnett 1-5
Shughart 0-5
