Dylan Bates hit a 3-pointer for the South Johnston varsity boys with four seconds remaining on Tuesday night to give the host Trojans a 51-50 Greater Neuse 3-A Conference win over Cleveland.

South improved to 17-2 overall and 4-1 in league play.

Cleveland took a 46-41 win in the varsity girls game and also took the junior varsity boys game, 48-38.

The South varsity boys will be looking to avenge their lone league loss when the Trojans teams travel to Clayton on Friday night.
