52 wins General Lee golf at Chicora

The Rotary Club honored the memory of former Dunn mayor Oscar Harris at its annual General William C. Lee Golf Tournament on Thursday at Chicora Country Club.

Rotarian Pat Godwin was the presenting sponsor. There were 23 foursomes competing.

First flight winners with a score of 52 included Bud Jennings, Kris Allen, former Chicora club pro Derek Easter and Jerry Lewis. Second place went to Chris Starling, Larry Baggett, Meghan Holbrooks and Dan Waters with a score of 54. Third place honors were earned by the team of Ben Dingus, William Peregoy, Kyle Turlington and Marc Phillips, who also scored a 54.

In the second flight, three teams scored 66 with place winners determined by a scorecard playoff. The first place team was Jeremy Bass, Wade Pack, Nathan Arnn and Travis Sirois. Second place went to Byron Tyndall, Dennis Manuel, Clark White and Jeff Honeycutt. Third in the scorecard playoff went to Skip Smith, David Barnes, Bob Hedrick and Robert Wall.

Closest to the pin honors went to Ian Stroud on No. 4, Larry Baggett on No. 7 and Marc Phillips on No. 11.

Trent Carpenter served as tournament director and Joe Carr grilled burgers for lunch.
