54 wins Educators Golf at Keith Hills

Will Gage organizes the Harnett County Educators Golf Tournament at Keith Hills and his team is usually in contention.

The 33rd annual event was no exception as Whit Bradham, Gage, James Harris and Jody Yarbrough teamed up for a 54 in the superball format for first in the top flight over the White and Orange nines.

The winners had two eagles including the par-four fifth on the White nine after Harris drove the green. Gage and company also eagled No. 6 on the Orange, a par five.

Second through sixth place in the top flight were determined by scorecard playoffs as there was a logjam with 57s. Second went to Stephen Hales, Todd Bryant, Matt Smith and Tony Fish.

The team of Bob Hedrick, Allen Bunch, Ray Mann and Joe Wynns were third. In fourth place were Buck Womack, Ryan Patterson, Chris Godfrey and Robbie Currin.

Larry Byrd, Ashley Ennis, Perry Ennis and Nick Page took fifth. Sixth were Bobby Matthews Jr., Todd Matthews, Joey Lubarski and David Matthews.

First place for the Black to White nines was the team of John Hodges, Michael Mason, Brad McDougald and Jordan Allen with a 56. Second at 57 were E.W. Williams, Don Wilson, Elmon Williams and Stan Williams. Matt Greiner, Lisa Stewart, Jason Long and Matt Bingham were third with a 62.

Carding 62 for fourth were Ron Avery, Terry Hinson, Aaron Hinson and Brad Hinson. Earning fifth with a 65 were Craig Rogers, Larry Clark, Paul Cadet and Pete Martinez. Sixth went to James Johnson, Chad Lucas, Chuck Klaren and Tyler Matthews with 65.

Taking first in the Orange to Black flight were Russell Taylor, Terry Currin, Keith Holder and David Stewart with a 61. In second at 63 were Jeff Carroll, Bill Sutter, Ralph Martin and Mike Brown. Darell Hodge, Doug Stevens, Donnie Tart and Kevin Tudor were third at 64.

Rodney Pope, Timmy Holder, Andrew Pope and Travis Godfrey were fourth at 64. At 66 and taking fifth were John Gage, Ben Pearce, Howard Dudley and Bryant Pope. Sixth place went to Steve Moss, Ryan Tew, Shawn Cacioppo and David Freitas with a 69.
