The team of Steven Hamby, John Hardee, Lindsey Hardee and Mark Whitman shot 55 in the Superball format at Keith Hills on Monday to win the first flight in the 40th annual Harnett Educators Golf Tournament.
The first flight played the Orange to Black nines.
Second place in the first flight went to Todd, Bobby, Tyler and David Matthews with a 56. Taking third with a 57 were Ellis Bunch, Bob Hedrick, Brandon Wood, and Skip Smith.
A 55 also was the winning score in the second flight from Brad Marolf, Dwayne Holmes, Chris Barefoot and Michael French.
Second place in the second flight was claimed by Whit Bradham, Ron Avery, Bryant Pope and David Gaster with a 59 over the Black to White nines. Third place in the second flight with a 60 sent to Donnie Tart, Lance Honeycutt, Kip Brandenburg and Alex Babbit.
The third flight was contested over the White to Orange nines with Keith Turlington, Jonathan Denton, Estoban Rosa and Branson Raynor posting a 58 for first place.
Second place in the third flight went to Anthony Davis, Johnny Howington, Dalton Davis and Gavin Bruner with a 59. Third place in the third flight were Lisa Stewart, Chelsey Cabe, Zach Cabe and Josh Cabe with a 61.
There were 35 teams overall in the event organized by retiring Harnett Central athletic director and varsity boys basketball coach Will Gage.
