Cape Fear Christian Academy hosted Riverside Christian on Tuesday in varsity softball in the final regular-season home game for the Eagles.
With no seniors on the roster, there was no Senior Day for CFCA, but the Eagles had a Pink-Out Day and prevailed 4-3 over the Royals.
CFCA improved to 9-7 going into a nonconference game at Lee Christian on Thursday at 4 p.m. Riverside is 13-3 with a pair of losses to the Eagles. CFCA took an 11-10 road win over the Royals on April 8.
Reliever Rhyleigh Horne recorded a game-ending strikeout with the potential tying run at third on Tuesday. Horne had five strikeouts in the last two innings.
Claire Parker started in the circle and went five innings. She allowed four hits and two earned runs while striking out three.
Paige Jeffries of the Eagles followed a single by Kristen Bass with a home run in the first inning. Aubree Bass and Horne had RBI singles for CFCA in the fifth.
Kristen Bass and Jeffries were each 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs. Aubree Bass, Horne and Shelby Hodges were each 1-for-3.
