Harnett Central’s girls tennis team hosted Overhills for the Trojans’ Senior Day on Thursday and defeated the Jaguars, 9-0.

Seniors Valentina Cervantes and Cara Fischer were honored as Central improved to 7-2 overall and 3-2 in the All American Conference going into a match Monday at Pine Forest.

“The girls played one of their best matches of the season, especially having to play without our No. 3 player, Sophie McLean, who hurt her ankle against Terry Sanford,” said Central coach Jay James. “Our girls stepped up and only lost three games out of 72 played.”
