Hawks take 4-1 girls soccer victory at Midway

Triton’s varsity girls soccer team improved to 2-1 on the season with a 4-1 win at rival Midway on Friday night.

Freshman McKenna Moore had two goals and senior Carleigh Parker had one goal and one assist to lead the Hawks.

Emma Stanley had one goal. Camryn Conway, Kate Cochran and Bianca Gonzalez had one assist apiece.

Sophomore Rachel Eldridge had the lone goal for the Raiders (2-1).

Moore scored on an assist from Conway and Parker put away a corner kick from Cochran to give Triton a 2-0 lead.

Eldridge scored on a loose ball in front of the goal to cut the lead to 2-1 just before the half.

Moore scored again on an assist from Parker and Stanley scored on an assist from Gonzalez in the second half for Triton.

Triton starts All American 3-A/4-A Conference play at Harnett County rival Overhills (0-1) on Monday at 6 p.m. and Midway has a nonconference game at East Duplin (1-1) on Tuesday.
