The Cape Fear Christian Academy varsity softball team showed significant improvement from its first meeting with Rocky Mount Academy in an 18-0 road win on Monday.

CFCA took a 2-1 win over RMA in a tournament hosted by Halifax Academy on March 5.

Cailee Ray was 4-for-4 with four runs and two RBIx for the Eagles (8-2) in the second meeting.

Mount Olive commit Rhyleigh Horne was 3-for-3 with three doubles, four runs and five RBIs.

Methodist signee Kim Boprdeaux was 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs.

Mount Olive commit Mariah Bell went 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI.

Megan Harrold went 2-for-3. Karli Johnson had a hit and two RBIs. Kristina Kennedy and Averi Williams each had a hit and an RBI.

Claire Parker allowed one hit with three strikeouts in three innings. Kennedy fanned all three batters she faced in the fourth.

CFCA has a Sandhills Athletic Conference contest at Freedom Christian on Friday.
