Cape Fear Christian Academy completed a 9-0 week in basketball with nonconference junior varsity and varsity boys victories over visiting Berean Baptist of Fayetteville on Friday night.
Zeke Brock scored 33 points, 12 assists, eight steals and five rebounds as the Eagle varsity improved to 5-3 with a 76-55 victory. Brock hit 15 of 21 field goal attempts.
Brandon Surles had 13 points for CFCA, which led 38-19 at the half. Wyatt Medlin added nine points, Elijah Ellis tallied seven, Cole Godwin scored six, Trevor McLamb totaled five, Gavin Harris had two points and Lathan Wilborn added one.
Surles had four assists and two steals. Godwin claimed five rebounds.
Caden Scarborough had 24 points for the JV boys in a 58-46 victory. The junior Eagles improved to 5-0 as Jayden Wright scored 10 points and Kayden Dunkins netted eight.
Berean Baptist does not have a varsity girls team.
CFCA hosts Wake Christian on Monday for JV boys, varsity girls and varsity boys matchups beginning at 4 p.m.
Middle School
The CFCA middle school teams took triumphs at St. John Paul II of Southern Pines on Thursday with the girls prevailing, 28-9, before the boys moved to 6-0 by a 52-11 margin.
Brandon Brooks had 17 points to lead the boys. Fisher Stancil had 10 points. London Hinson scored eight. Cade Godwin finished with seven. Chris Crume scored six and Ethan Beasley tallied four.
Christianna Wynns led the girls (5-1) with eight points. Also contributing in the scoring column were Aubrey Horne with six, Lily Kate Dupree (5), Bailey Avery (4), Isabella Autry (3) and Finley Phillips (2).
