Cape Fear Christian Academy’s middle school baseball team took its second Mid-Carolina Conference win this season over Crossroads Christian of Henderson on Friday.
After holding on for an 8-7 road win on March 22, the Eagles took an 11-1 win in five innings in the second matchup.
The Colts took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on Friday, but the hosts responded with an RBI by Braxton Young and a 2-run single by James Hood. Another run scored in the first when Landon Wangerin was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
Trystan Marlow protected the lead with a complete game on the mound. He allowed just two hits with three walks and seven strikeouts.
Hood finished with two hits and three RBIs. Tyson Stephens and Young each had two hits. CFCA drew 10 walks with Parker McLamb and Marlow each earning three bases on balls.’
McLamb, Stephens, Marlow, Hood and Young each had multiple steals as the Eagles swiped 15 bases.
