MS baseball gets road win at Southside as Stephens, Wangelin lead way

Cape Fear Christian Academy’s middle school baseball team played Southside Christian at East Clayton Community Park on Friday and posted a 14-2 nonconference win.

Tyson Stephens went 4-for-4 for the Eagles with a double in the second inning. He had three stolen bases.

Carter Glass drove in two runs in the first frame. Trystan Marlow, Parker McLamb and Landon Wangelin had RBI singles in the opening inning.

Wangelin started on the mound and yielded one hit over two innings. He struck out four without a run or a walk.

Wangelin finished with three hits and three RBIs.

Gunner Dorman and McLamb also had multiple hits for CFCA.

The Eagles had a double play.

CFCA returns to Mid-Carolina Conference play on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Lee Christiam, which topped the Eagles, 8-7, at CFCA on April 16.
