Bradford Academy of Mebane took a 1-0 varsity girls soccer win at Capen Fear Christian Academy on Friday in the second round of the NCISAA 1-A playoffs.
The fourth-seeded Eagles pressured on several occasions without finding the net. Bradford (7-10), the No. 4 seed, got a first-half goal from McKenna Johnston.
Grace Viox had 12 saves for CFCA (5-8).
The Eagles were 1-2 against the Archers in 2024 with a 3-1 road win on March 19 in Mid-Carolina Conference play as Bailey Dorman had three goals and Ella John Dupree had two assists.
Bradford won, 2-1, at CFCA on April 9 as Dupree scored for the hosts.
“We’re very evenly matched with Bradford,” said CFCA coach Beth Brocious. “We’re going to miss our leadership (seniors Dupree, Madeline Brocious, Perri Caroline Ennis and Laney Trainer).”
Dorman finished with eight goals in nine games. Dupree had five goals and six assists in 12 games.
