Cape Fear Christian Academy downed visiting Bradford Academy, 3-0, on Friday in the second volleyball matchup this season for the Mid-Carolina Conference teams.
CFCA improved to 3-6 overall and 2-2 in the MCC going into a nonconference match at home with Southern Lee on Monday.
Set scores Friday were 25-5, 25-12 and 25-12.
“”Great teamwork,” said Eagles coach Andrea Malthouse. “We had several scoring runs to keep us in the lead. There were excellent plays at the net, both blocking and attacking.
“The defensive specialists kept balls in play. Setters had lots of great assists. An overall great team effort.”
The Eagles were more dominant than in a match hosted by the Archers (0-7, 0-4) on August 22 when set scores were 25-14, 25-20 and 25-11.
