The seasons have changed but Eli Shwaikeh remains the primary offense for the Cape Fear Christian Academy middle school boys.

Shwaikeh had 21 goals during soccer season when CFCA went unbeaten in the Mid-Carolina Conference, winning the league’s regular season and tournament championships.

He had 34 goals in his middle school soccer career.

The Eagles began middle school basketball season on Tuesday and Shwaikeh led a 35-27 home win over O’Neal with 27 points.

The Eagles struggled at the free throw line late in the game or the win would have been more decisive.

Shwaikeh also paced CFCA in rebounding with nine. Luke Meyer had four points in the win. Scoring two points each were Jayce Barker and Carter Glass.

O’Neal took a 42-24 win in the middle school girls game as CFCA was without post player Carolina Wynns, who was sick.

Kinsley Godwin led the Eagles with 10 points and Bijou Hester added nine.
