Kayden Dunkins of Cape Fear Christian Academy has been named to the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association all-state team in 1-A boys basketball.
Dunkins averaged 15.9 points for a 16-11 team that reached the state semifinals.
A 6-feet, 2-inch junior wing, Dunkins had 6.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.
He made 47 percent of his field goal attempts with the ability to hit from long range as well as a knack for scoring off the dribble.
“Kayden is an electric player,” said CFCA coach Dwain Elli. “He has the ability to score in bunches throughout games, night in and night out.
“He helped us get to the Final Four this season. … Great talent, great student. great individual. Well deserved.”
