Freshman Wesley Tew and junior Carson Tew each had two RBIs for the Raiders (23-7), who will be at home Thursday at 7 p.m. with an opportunity to advance to the state championship. … Host Scotland County took game one in its Eastern 3-A softball series with South Johnston, 7-2, ending a 23-game winning streak for the Trojans. … Florida started the Eastern Conference championship series in the Stanley Cup playoffs with a 5-2 win over the host Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night. … Oklahoma City opened the Western Conference finals in the NBA playoffs with a 114-88 victory over visiting Minnesota. … The NBA Eastern Conference final gets underway tonight with Indiana at New York (TNT, 8 p.m.). … East Carolina opened the American Athletic Conference tournament in Clearwater with a 9-4 triumph over South Florida as Cliff Godwin’s 427th win tied Dr. Gary Overton for the most in program history. Pirate freshman Braden Burress, who is from Coach Godwin’s hometown of Snow Hill, went 4-for-6 with a home run. ECU will face Charlotte on Thursday at approximately 5 p.m.
