
Allie Wiggins crosses the finish line for All-State honors.
Eighth-grader Allie Wiggins made the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association 1-A All-State cross country team for the second straight year with her performance in the state meet at Olsen Park in Wilmington on Friday.
Wiggins completed the 5-kilometer course in 23 minutes, 25.1 seconds as the Eagle girls were fourth among eight teams.
Also scoring for the CFCA girls were Courtney Butts (25:15.9) and Trinity Olive (25:45.2).
Seventh-grader Brandon Surles was fastest among the Eagle boys in 20:59.4 for 21st in the field. Senior Trey Tripp (23:27.8) and Gabe Motschenbacker (24:24.2) also scored for CFCA.
“The kids did great,” said Eagles coach Mandy Wiggions.
