Allie Wiggins of CFCA won an All-State medal on Thursday.

Seventh-grader Allie Wiggins of Cape Fear Christian Academy made the All-State team in the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association 1-A cross country meet at McAlpine Park in Charlotte on Thursday.

Wiggins ran the 5-kilometer course in 24 minutes, seven seconds to finish fifth among 43 girls. The Eagles were sixth among nine teams in the girls standings.

Courtney Butts of CFCA was 25th in 27:46.4 and Carlie Spencer was 39th in 36:15.2.

The CFCA boys were eighth among 10 teams as Gus Adams was 24th in the field of 47 runners in 22:46.6. Also scoring for the Eagles were River Ennis (37th, 26:41.6) and Dylan Johnson (38th, 26:50.8).
