Freshman Landon Alphin pitched five and one-third innings of no-hit baseball with 14 strikeouts as the Cape Fear Christian Academy varsity moved into the Sandhills Athletic Conference championship game with an 8-2 win over visiting Fayetteville Christian on Thursday.

The Eagles (9-5) scored three runs in the fourth and added five more in the fifth.

Reid Miller had two hits and scored two runs. He went to the mound in relief of Alphin.

Cole Godwin got the last out on a strikeout.

DeShawn Woods and Zeke Brock each had a hit and scored twice. Cason Pope and Trevor McLamb also scored for CFCA.

The Eagles are scheduled to visit Village Christian today (Friday, May 5) at 4:30 p.m. in the SAC final.
