Mollie Bass had two hits and an RBI for the North Carolina (Dunn) Angels on Sunday.

The North Carolina (Dunn) Angels (10-and-under) softball All-Stars got their second win in the Dixie Youth World Series in Alexandria, La., on Sunday, rallying past Florida, 7-2.

The local girls will play again on Monday at 8:30 p.m. (Eastern) against the winner of a matchup between Louisiana and Georgia.

Florida scored twice in the top of the first on Sunday.

“Our girls got a little emotional when they got down 2-0,” said N.C. coach Cullen Clark. “We had been telling them we couldn’t do it with pitching and defense alone. We had to swing the bats.”

The N.C. stars scored all of their runs in the second and third innings. Reagan Adams had a bases-loaded triple down the right field line. Aubrianna Colasso had a sacrifice bunt for an RBI.

Eva Kate McLamb pitched the first two innings. She had six strikeouts, walked two and allowed two hits.

Jordyn Christopher pitched the third and fourth innings. She struck out six without a walk or a hit.

In the fifth inning, Samantha Carter fanned three with a pair of walks and no hits.

Ella Clark was 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI for Dunn. Mollie Bass went 2-for-2 with an RBI. Christopher and Olivia Crumpler also had hits.

Samantha Carter finished in the circle in Sunday’s 10-U win.

Ella Clark has been stepping up at the plate in the Dixie Youth World Series.
