Astros pull within game of first

The Buies Creek Astros got home runs from Jacob Meyers and Jake Adams on Tuesday in a 9-6 win over Winston-Salem at Jim Perry Stadium in Buies Creek.

The Astros pulled within one game of the Dash in the Carolina League Southern Division second-half standings.

Adams hit a two-run homer with two out in Buies Creek’s four-run first inning. Meyers added another two-run blast in the second.

Seth Beer had two hits and also drove in a pair of runs.

Astros starter Jose Hernandez (1-0) had six strikeouts in five innings.
