The Buies Creek Astros scored seven runs in the second inning and completed a three-game sweep of Myrtle Beach with a 9-0 win on Wednesday night at Jim Perry Stadium.

Brandon Bielak (2-1) and Justin Ferrell combined for the shuout with 11 strikeouts as the Pelicans were held to four hits.

Anibal Sierra had a three-run homer in Buies Creek’s fifth straight win. Luis Payano had two hits with a home run and two RBIs.

The Astros (9-5) start a four-game series with the Carolina Mudcats in Zebulon tonight.
