BC Astros down Lynchburg, 12-5

Osvaldo Duarte and Abraham Toro-Hernandez each had two-run double in a six-run fifth inning for the Buies Creek Astros in a 12-5 Carolina League baseball win at Lynchburg on Monday night.

The Astros (2-3) can even their record against the Hillcats at Calvin Falwell Field tonight.

Buies Creek scored four runs in the fourth to lead, 5-1.

Right-hander Corbin Martin (1-0) got the win as he yielded just one run on one hit through four innings. Martin walked two and struck out seven. Ronel Blanco had one whiff in an inning on the mound for the Astros. Brett Adcock fanned six over the last four frames.

Buies Creek completes its series at Lynchburg on Wednesday night and plays its first home game on Thursday night at 7 p.m. against the Salem Red Sox.
