BC Astros fall to Mudcats

BUIES CREEK — The Carolina Mudcats opened a three-game series at Buies Creek on Monday night with a 5-0 win as Cameron Roegner (3-1) and Miguel Sanchez (first save) combined for a three-hit shutout.

Alfredo Angarita went 2-for-3 for the Astros and Anibal Sierra had the only other hit for the home team.

The outcome put Buies Creek at 18-13 for the first half of the Carolina League Southern Division season and dropped the Astros into a first-place tie with the Winston-Salem Dash.
