Abdiel Saldana allowed just four hits over six innings as the Buies Creek Astros took a 4-0 Carolina League baseball win at Lynchburg (Va.) on Tuesday night to even the area team’s record at 3-3.

Saldana (1-0) struck out six and walked one. Jesus Balaguer (two innings) and Kit Scheetz completed the shutout. Scheetz had three strikeouts in the ninth.

Anibal Sierra had a two-run double in the fourth to score Luis Payano and Carlos Canelon.

Josh Rojas scored on a ground out in the fifth and Chas McCormick had an RBI single.

Payano finished 3-for-5.
