Triton coach Ben Penny is secretary of the new Capital Area Football Coaches Association, which had a clinic Saturday in Raleigh that featured renown Virginia Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster as featured speaker.
“It went well,” Penny said. “Saturday was a great day for high school football in the Triangle area. CAFCA president Jeremy Buck (offensive coordinator at Heritage) and the rest of the board members did a great job with the clinic. We had close to 80 coaches in attendance.”
Harnett Central coach Matt Migliore and staff were among those on hand.
“We laid the foundation for the association and explained the vision we have for the future, which is ultimately to have a unified voice among our coaches,” Penny said. “We are one of the largest areas in the state.”
