Campbell right-handed pitcher Logan Bender has been named the Big South Conference Freshman of the Week in baseball.

The redshirt-freshman from Triton made three appearances for the Camels over the last five games, tossing four and two-thirds scoreless innings of relief and allowing just one hit. Bender totaled eight strikeouts to just one walk on the week, raising his strikeouts to nine innings ratio to a team-high 15.43.

Bender helped the Camels to a combined shutout against Rider on March 13, pitching one hitless, scoreless inning with two strikeouts. At Charleston Southern, Bender fanned five of six batters faced over two scoreless relief innings in the series opener. In Sunday’s series finale, he held the Bucs scoreless for one and two-thirds innings as Campbell took the lead to notch his second win of the season.
