Harnett Central presented its athlete of the year honors to seniors Hayden Smith for the boys and Lyndsey Brewer for the girls on Tuesday (May 21).

Smith played football and basketball for the Trojans. He was quarterback and punter in football. He has signed to continue his football career at Campbell.

Brewer played volleyball, basketball and softball.

She had 123 kills, 47 blocks and 48 digs in volleyball in 2018. Her basketball stats included 5.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. She hit .417 for a softball team that reached the third round of the 3-A playoffs.
