Sophomore Cam Brown of Triton shot 77 Monday at Whispering Pines in the NCHSAA 3-A Mid-East golf regional to earn a berth in the state tournament at Longleaf in Southern Pines next Monday and Tuesday.

Brown has regained the performance level of his freshman season with the Hawks when he averaged 79 strokes.

“He had been struggling, but its seems like he figured it out and made a tweak in his swing,” said Triton coach John Hardee.
