Camel baseball falls at Elon

ELON — Elon put up four runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back as Campbell fell to the Phoenix 11-1 on Tuesday night at Latham Park.

First baseman Zach Minnick accounted for Campbell’s only run of the game with a solo home run in the top of the second. Matthew Barefoot (double) and Tyler Anshaw had CU’s other two hits.

Phoenix righty Mason Daniels (1-1) earned the win as the Elon starter tossed five complete innings with six strikeouts, giving up two hits and one earned run.

Barefoot (0-1) took the loss, surrendering four unearned runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Elon (21-16) plated four unearned runs on two hits and one error, headlined by a two-RBI triple from Josh Broughton in the first.
