BUIES CREEK — Deontaye Buskey and Phlandrous Fleming scored 21 points and dealt six assists apiece to lead hot-shooting Charleston Southern to a 77-62 win over Campbell Thursday night at Gore Arena.

The Buccaneers (8-9, 2-3 Big South) shot 61 percent (17-28) in the second half, 56 percent for the game (31-55) and knocked down 13-of-25 threes (.520).

Travis Anderson came off the bench to hit 4-of-6 beyond the arc and finished with 17 points, while Ty Jones added 11 for the visitors. Fleming made 9-of-16 from the floor, including 3-of-5 threes. Buskey finished 8-of-13 from the field, 4-of-7 beyond the arc.

Austin McCullough led Campbell (10-7, 1-4) with 11 points off the bench, while Cory Gensler and Ja’Cor Nelson (four steals) added 10 points each.

Nelson’s drive to the bucket gave the Camels an 18-14 lead with 7:57 left in the opening half, but the Bucs closed the half by making eight of their last 10 shots and took a 36-26 lead into the dressing room.

CSU made eight of its first 13 shots in the final period and led by as many as 24. McCullough and Messiah Thompson knocked down back-to-back triples to cut the gap to 73-58, but the Camels drew no closer.

Campbell shot 44 percent on the night (22-50) and made 6-of-20 from 3-point distance.

The Camels return to action Saturday when they host Longwood for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
