As champions of the Big South Conference tournament, Campbell earned an automatic bid to the NCAA baseball tournament.
The Camels have been placed in the Athens, Ga., regional as the No. 4 seed and will take on host Georgia in their opening game of the double-elimination event.
Campbell (35-24) will play the Bulldogs (37-19) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Eight Camels were named All-Big South Conference including league Pitcher of the Year Allan Winans and Freshman of the Year Logan Bender. Winans and Bender joined Matthew Barefoot and Jeff Hahs as first team All-Big South selections. Christian Jones, Michael Horrell and Tyson Messer were chosen second team all-conference. Additionally, senior infielder Kyle Mehl represented Campbell on the All-Academic team.
CU’s Justin Haire was voted Big South Conference Coach of the Year by his peers.
Duke (40-15) is the No 2 seed at Athens and will play third-seeded Troy (41-19) on Friday at 2 p.m.
The winner of the Athens regional will play the winner of the Lubbock regional in a Super Regional. The Lubbock regional includes host Texas Tech (39-17), Louisville (43-17), Kent State (39-16) and New Mexico State (40-20).
Super Regional play is scheduled for June 8-11.
Eight Super Regional winners comprise the field in the College World Series in Omaha, June 16-27.
