BUIES CREEK — Tyler Young and Jake Morris came off the bench to score two goals each as Campbell rolled over Presbyterian 8-0 in a Big South Conference men’s soccer match at the Eakes Athletic Complex on Saturday night.

Coming off the team’s first loss against a Big South Conference opponent since 2018, Campbell (4-2-1, 3-1-1) scored twice in the first 16 minutes and only surrendered four shots against the Blue Hose (2-3-1, 0-3-1), who are winless in their last four outings.

Franck Momo opened the scoring in the 15th minute when he knocked in the rebound after PC keeper Flannan Riley saved his penalty kick.

Just 1:48 later, Matt Lock settled Jalen James’ cross in the box and blasted a right-footed shot inside the back post to double the lead.

PC had a pair of shots in the opening five minutes of play, but no more in the first half. On the night, CU allowed only two Blue Hose shots on target in front of keeper Samuel Lechuga, who posted his third shutout of the season.

Just 1:09 into the second half, PC midfielder Voro Rivera Peris was sent off after a hard tackle on Momo near midfield, leaving the Blue Hose a man down for the final 43:51.

Less than a minute later, Momo squared the ball into the area to Daniel Hernández, who left it for James. The red-shirt sophomore then curled a left-footed shot inside the left post by a screened Riley, who never left his feet.

In the 68th minute, Young drew a foul just outside the PC box and curled the ensuing free kick over the wall into the net for his second goal of the year. Just 46 seconds later Young fed Morris in the area for the junior transfer’s first goal in a Camel uniform.

After 71 minutes, Sami Charaf Amal neatly tucked a right-footed shot inside the far post after being set up by Moses Mensah. Morris then found Riley off his line in the 74th minute for his second goal of the night.

Just over five minutes elapsed before Young headed in Morris’ corner kick for an 8-0 Camel lead.

The Camels scored on eight of their nine shots on target and finished with a 15-4 edge in shots overall.

Campbell returns to action Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Longwood.
