California quarterback Bryan Wilson also received offers from Florida State and Texas A&M before signing in the early period with the Camels.

BUIES CREEK – Campbell opened the 2023-24 early signing period by inking six future Camels to national letters of intent.

Five signed to the class are high school products, with one transfer. There are four defensive additions and two offensive prospects hailing from four different states.

“The Campbell football family is beyond ecstatic about our newest additions from today’s early signing day,” said Campbell interim coach Steven Williams. “From a talent and character standpoint, these young men embody the direction that this program is headed. They immediately impact this program while being the bedrock for the future. We cannot wait to welcome them with open arms as we continue to work toward solidifying this class in February.”

Offensive lineman Ashton Allman is a McArthur, Ohio (Vinton County HS) native, with linebacker Kado Felder coming to Campbell from Fresno, Calif. (Washington Union HS), and Semaj Jackson is a defensive back from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (American Heritage HS). Fellow Sunshine State defensive back Donavan Philord is a Hialeah native (Norland HS), with quarterback Bryan Wilson heading to CU from Corona, Calif. (Eleanor Roosevelt HS).

Melvin, meanwhile, is a graduate transfer linebacker from Penn, coming from Hampton, Va., who was an All-Ivy League honorable mention in 2022, and team captain.

Felder, Jackson, Philord and Wilson are all 3-star prospects, according to 247Sports. Melvin, Philord and Wilson are set to enroll at Campbell in the spring 2024 semester.

Following the early signing period, the Camels will add to their 2023-24 class during the regular signing period for Division I football, running from February 7 to April 1.
