BUIES CREEK — Joshua Lusane and Ricky Clemons combined for 32 points to lead Campbell to a 74-57 Big South Conference men’s basketball win over Presbyterian on Saturday on Senior Day at Gore Arena.

Playing in their final home game, Lusane (17) and Clemons (15) were among four double figure scorers for the Camels (13-15, 8-8 Big South), who jumped to an 11-0 lead and never trailed.

Anthony Dell’Orso added 17 points and four assists, while Jay Pal chipped in his fourth double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Campbell led by as many as 30 and won its third in the last four outings.

Presbyterian (5-24, 1-15) closed the game on an 11-1 run after the Camels emptied the bench, but dropped its 15th-straight contest. Marquis Barnett, Jalen Forrest and Kobe Stewart led the Blue Hose with 13 points each.

Campbell closed the opening half on a 14-2 run and led 44-17 at the break. CU shot 62 percent (16-26) in the first period, forced 12 turnovers, and had a 19-5 edge in points off miscues.

Lusane scored 13 first-half points on 5-of-6 shooting, and Pal added 10. PC shot just 33 percent (7-21) in the first period.

Clemons sank a corner three with 18:22 remaining to give the Camels a 49-19 advantage. PC was able to cut the margin to less than 20 only twice in the final period.

A senior center from Americus, Georgia., Lusane hit five of seven shots, including two of two beyond the arc, and five of six from the line, while adding five rebounds, four assists and two blocks. A fifth-year senior, Clemons made four of seven from the floor, pulled down six boards, dealt three assists and made three steals.

The Camels finished with a 26-12 advantage in points off turnovers and shot 51 percent overall (24-47). CU knocked down seven of 15 threes (.467) and made two more free throws (19-27) than Presbyterian attempted (10-17).

PC shot 41 percent overall (20-49) and hit seven of 20 (.350) beyond the arc.

The Camels close the regular-season schedule with games Wednesday at Winthrop (7 p.m.) and Feb. 25 at Radford (2 p.m.).

The top six teams in the final Big South standings earn a bye into the quarterfinal round of next month’s league tournament at Charlotte.
