BUIES CREEK — Campbell completed a season sweep of Duke with a 6-3 win Tuesday night at Jim Perry Stadium. The Camels allowed three early runs, but held the Blue Devils scoreless after the second inning for another comeback win.
The outcome put Campbell at 27-14, while Duke fell to 19-24. Campbell is 3-2 against ACC opponents with a win over N.C. State as well.
The Blue Devils left 13 on base. Duke left the bases loaded in the fourth, seventh and eighth inninga.
Ty Cummings escaped two of the jams, inheriting three runners with one out in the seventh, but getting a pair of strikeouts.
Trailing 3-0, Lawson Harrill dropped an RBI single between three fielders in shallow left to plate the first run. Drake Pierson tied the game the following frame with his team-high 10th home run of the season, a 2-run shot down the left field line.
Campbell took advantage of its bases loaded opportunity in the fifth, when Babin gave the Camels the lead with a 2-out, 2-run single.
Cade Kuehler (3-5) worked five innings, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out six to earn the win. Ryan Chasse pitched one and one-third innings in relief before Cummings finished the job, fanning three over the final two and two-thirds innings to pick up his sixth save.
Harrill and Logan Jordan had two hits each as Campbell collected eight total.
Campbell plays at Winthrop on Friday at 5 p.m.
