Triton kicker Carter Daughtry has signed with Campbell as a preferred walk-on.
Daughtry helped the Hawks reach the fourth round of the NCHSAA 3-A playoffs in 2022.
“We are extremely proud of Carter,” said Triton coach Ben Penny. “He has been a staple in our program for the last three seasons and has had many accomplishments, most notably kicking what proved to be the game-winning field goal at Jacksonville.”
The Hawks topped Jacksonville, 37-35, in the third round.
“He has worked extremely hard, most of the time on his own outside of practice, to overcome a significant injury last season and become one of the area’s best kickers,” Penny saud. “We are very excited that he is staying in Harnett County and look forward to him representing Triton High School at the Division 1 level.”
Daughtry’s dad, Larry, was a standout at Triton and went on to the football program at N.C. State.
